I’ve always thought that if Pang Tong hadn’t died, Zhuge Liang wouldn’t have needed to go to Yizhou to help Liu Bei. Then Guan Yu wouldn’t have lost Jingzhou or been killed. Zhang Fei might not have been killed by his own men either. Liu Bei wouldn’t have had to attack Eastern Wu, and he might have had a much better shot at unifying the realm.
