Today I was originally planning to take my family to see the lantern festival at New Taipei Metropolitan Park, but it was drizzling in the morning. We ended up calling it off because of the weather, and I figured I’d just stay home and clean. But then, around noon, the clouds cleared and the sun actually came out! We decided to go for it after all and headed out on our adventure.
Man, it was packed! There were so many people and a ton of food stalls—easily over 100 of them. The lanterns were gorgeous, especially the 12 signs of the Zodiac. Since it’s the Year of the Horse, there were flying horses everywhere. I ended up taking a million pictures for my mom.
The highlight for me, though, was definitely the Maltese Puppy display. It was huge and so cute! There was a massive line of people waiting to take photos, so we jumped in line too.
All in all, we had a blast!
