Crazy Taiwan Traffic! Stay Focused!

This morning, I drove my mom to the Buddhist monastery. On the way back, I was thinking about listening to a podcast or practicing my English, but I dropped that idea pretty fast. It’s just not safe.

If you’ve ever driven in Taiwan, you know what I mean. The traffic can be pretty chaotic. There are cars and scooters everywhere, and scooters suddenly shoot out from side streets. Sometimes people park on the side of the road and unexpectedly open their car doors, or the driver in front of me suddenly slams on the brakes. And every now and then, a dog or even a kid runs out in front of me out of nowhere.

So because of all that, I really have to stay fully focused when I’m driving. If I’m listening to a podcast, practicing English, or talking to someone, it’s easy to lose concentration, and that can be really dangerous. Safety first.
