Why One Bowl of Beef Noodles Changed My Life Forever

Speaking of beef noodles, back in elementary school, I ate them every single Wednesday for over two years. But after a pretty bad experience, I stayed away from beef for a long time, and I’ve actually been vegan now for over five years.

Here’s what happened:

When I was a kid, we had half-days every Wednesday. My routine was always a bowl of beef noodles with a side of sliced beef. I did this every week for at least two years straight.

But one day, the soles of my feet and my toes started itching like crazy. I realized I had developed psoriasis or eczema or something. It spread so fast... to the sides and tops of my feet, and it was so itchy I couldn't even sleep. Even though I used eczema cream, it didn't help.

Finally, I tried soaking my feet in hot salt water and even scrubbed them with salt. That actually did the trick and helped calm the itching.

It took about two weeks to fully recover. Once I stopped eating beef so frequently, my feet cleared up and the eczema never came back. That experience really scared me off beef, and eventually, I just moved away from meat entirely.
