On the day of the accident, we took my mom to an orthopedic clinic to get her ribs X-rayed, and the doctor there said everything looked fine.
But a few days later—right in the middle of the New Year holidays—my mom’s friend kept insisting she go to the ER to get her head and ribs double-checked. It was my first time ever in an ER, and it was so packed! They did a CT scan and more X-rays, and that doctor told us her head was fine but that she had at least two hairline fractures in her ribs. He told her to just rest, take some calcium, and come back for a follow-up.
It was so weird because the clinic doctor said she was fine, but the ER doctor said they were cracked.
Anyway, I drove her back to the hospital today to see an orthopedic specialist, and he said the bones aren't actually cracked after all! It’s just bruised cartilage. Thank God it’s nothing too serious!
