Dinner Time or Screen Time?

You probably know this scene: A family eating at a diner: Mom, dad, and two kids---one boy and one girl. But the weird thing is, no one’s talking or even focused on their food. They’re all just staring at their phones. Yep... total phubbers.

Sound familiar?

I see this so often when I eat out. I always wonder what they are even looking at and why they aren't just talking to their family.

In my family, we hardly ever do that. Unless one of us has something really important to reply to or check on, we usually just talk during dinner.

First, it feels really rude to be glued to your phone and ignore the people you’re with.

Second, your phone can easily get greasy while you eat.

So yeah, that’s why my family doesn’t do the whole phubbing thing.
